THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	A fair start.
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	COLD SHINE (C Zackey) commenced to give ground to the field from the 400m and was not persevered with in the concluding stages. Thereafter Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with COLD SHINE in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
b)	MOJO MAN (C Murray) hung in from the 300m.
c)	ROCK OF BISMANTOVA (C Maujean) tired rapidly in the concluding stages. Thereafter Jockey C Maujean reported that this gelding took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
d)	DONQUERARI (*B Plaatjies) hung in throughout. 
e)	Apprentice B Plaatjies reported that DONQUERARI took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
f)	Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E, Guideline M), in that he as the rider of VIHAAN'S WEB misused his crop by striking this gelding more than twelve times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey S Khumalo signed an admission of guilt and a penalty of a fine of R5000 was imposed.
g)	In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report regarding ROCK OF BISMANTOVA and COLD SHINE, these geldings are suspended in terms of Rule 49.7 and a Veterinary Certificate is required prior to racing. Trainers C Spies and M/M De Kock respectively will be advised. 
h)	SOHO STAR (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Y Govender was advised (NS).
