THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	KINGOM OF HEAVEN (*I Taka), PASHTUNWALI (M van Rensburg), MISTER WHISTLE (J Gates) and ARIVIDICIO (C Maujean) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	PASHTUNWALI recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Assistant Trainer NJ Paddock was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level.
b)	KING RAHUL (*J Botes) shifted out away from the crop from the 100m.
c)	Apprentice N Nastili reported that HAT HOT HAT did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	In view of the performance of NIKES RAY OF LIGHT (Y Ramzan), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
	Assistant Trainer FJ Jacobs was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables.
e)	GUARDING THE WALL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee M Sobethwa, acting on behalf of Trainer SB Kotzen, was advised. (LM)
