Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHEAP THRILLS (Y Ramzan) was injured in the stalls, taken out, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn. Thereafter, CHEAP THRILLS (Y Ramzan) broke loose from the Handler and bolted the course. The starting stalls were removed from the course to prevent the loose horse from running into the stalls. Thereafter, this filly galloped back to the parade ring and was taken in hand, causing a delay. b) CELTIQUE (MK Katjedi) was nervous in the stalls. c) MAFIABAGSTHEMONEY (J Gates) was nervous in the stalls, kicked the back gates and thereafter was slow into stride. d) GLOBAL SCENE (C Little), PRESERVE FOREVER (*N Nastili) and TAKE A MULLIGAN (S Naidoo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MAFIABAGSTHEMONEY (J Gates) over raced in the early and middle stages. b) An Inquiry will be held into the reason SEMPRE BELLA (*J Botes) had to ease for a number of strides leaving the 450m. c) SEMPRE BELLA (*J Botes) was carried inwards for a number of strides leaving the 300m when CELTIQUE (MK Katjedi) commenced to hang in badly and shifted inwards. Despite Jockey MK Katjedi's attempt to straighten his mount, this filly was only corrected at the 150m. This resulted in Jockey MK Katjedi being unable to fully assist his mount. d) DONNY'S BOY (L Mxothwa) was hanging in from the 200m. e) In view of the performance of BATTLE OF BRITAIN (C Zackey) (Betting 4/1; Distance 18.10 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Assistant Trainer FJ Jacobs was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. f) DONNY'S BOY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
