THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ARABIAN RED (A Fortune) was nervous in the stalls and stood awkwardly. b) VALERIAS DREAM (S Naidoo) was nervous in the stalls and rushed the front gates. c) GOT THE FEVER (C Maujean) jumped slow, losing one length. d) STRANGE MAGIC (*J Botes) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) NEMOROSA (C Zackey) was hanging out from the 200m. b) AMAZING COLOURS (L Mxothwa) was carried outward by SHARAPOVA (K Minnie), which was hanging out and shifted slightly outwards at approximately the 100m. c) Jockey S Naidoo reported that VALERIA'S DREAM did not stride out freely behind in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) SHARAPOVA (K Minnie) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J de Villiers) e) UMZOLOZOLO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer NJ Paddock, acting on behalf of Trainer WGC Miller, was advised.
