Race 5: SPLASHOUT GOLDEN SLIPPER (Grade 2) (For 2 year-old Fillies)

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	A fair start.
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	ANOTHERDANCEFORME (R Fourie) showed a tendency to hang in shortly after entering the straight. At the 150m approaching the shadow cast by the grandstand ANOTHERDANCEFORME (R Fourie) commenced to hang in badly and consequently QUICKSTEPGAL (K Matsunyane), GREEN DIAMOND (G Lerena), CAPTAINS ENVY (T Godden) and EDUCATOR (C Zackey) were carried inwards and PRINCESS KEIRA (W Kennedy) was steadied and switched outwards to continue its run. Trainer M N Prinsloo lodged an Objection on behalf of the second placed horse QUICKSTEPGAL (K Matsunyane), against the winner ANOTHERDANCEFORME (R Fourie) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. The Objection Board, after carefully considering the evidence that was tendered during the Objection proceedings established that ANOTHERDANCEFORME (R Fourie) had trailed QUICKSTEPGAL (K Matsunyane) until the 300m of the event, had raced clear despite hanging in badly and that the margin between these two horses was 1.40 lengths.   It was the view of the Objection Board that this Objection had no prospects of success and consequently it was over-ruled and the deposit was forfeited. 
Jockey R Fourie stated during the Objection proceedings that ANOTHERDANCEFORME had exhibited greenness in the running, it was its first race away from its home base and that the filly had seen the shadow in the closing stages of the race and had commenced to hang in despite his best efforts to keep her on a straight course. The Stewards accepted his explanation and took no further action in this regard.
b)	TINA LOVELACE (S Khumalo) was ridden forward to improve her position in the latter part of the turn and consequently raced wide into the home straight. 
c)	Jockey C Zackey reported that EDUCATOR did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
d)	In view of the performance of PRINCESS KEIRA (W Kennedy) (7.65 lengths, 40/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
e)	ANOTHERDANCEFORME (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A C Greeff was advised (RvR).
f)	QUICKSTEPGAL (K Matsunyane), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Prinsloo was advised (SP).
g)	LIMITLESS SKY (C Habib), placed third, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead was advised (SA).
