THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) GRAND CRESCENDO (*T Mayhew) over-raced in the early and middle stages and thereafter gave ground quickly and compounded in the straight. Apprentice T Mayhew did not persevere with his ride. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Leaving the 300m UNDERWORLD (G Lerena) and GET IMPRESSED (J P v'd Merwe) came together and brushed on two occasions. c) In view of the performance of KING REGENT (C Little) (15.30 lengths, 66/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) ZEITZ (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
