THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 250m GILLIAN ANNE (G Behr) was steadied momentarily when close to the heels of QUICK BREEZE (G Cheyne) which was hanging out. b) Approaching the 100m WINTER MOSAIC (C Orffer) was carried out and had to be checked when racing tight between CELTIC NIGHT (L Mxothwa) and QUICK BREEZE (G Cheyne) which continued to hang out badly, proved difficult to assist and shifted out in spite of the efforts of Jockey G Cheyne. c) In the concluding stages CELTIC NIGHT (L Mxothwa) and QUICK BREEZE (G Cheyne) brushed, resulting in both horses becoming momentarily unbalanced. d) Jockey R Khathi reported DAD'S CATCH was coughing post-race. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) QUICK BREEZE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised.
