Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LOOKING GOOD proved difficult proceeding to the start and dislodged Jockey J Gates, bolted and broke through the outside running rail shortly after the finish, was taken in hand, examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn, causing a delay. A further delay was caused as a result of the damaged running rail being attended to. b) TANZANITE (C Zackey) was stubborn loading. c) MONEY GALORE (G Lerena) jumped outwards. d) WISHES AND DREAMS (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, MEET AT SEA (C Maujean) had to be eased for a number of strides when awkwardly placed between TANZANITE (C Zackey) and MONEY GALORE (G Lerena), which jumped awkwardly outwards leaving the stalls. b) Jockey C Maujean reported that MEET AT SEA, which took a number of awkward strides between the 600m and the 400m, made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. c) HAZE AND SMOKE (MK Katjedi) was hanging inwards from the 400m. d) MONEY GALORE (G Lerena), which shifted outwards slightly and DARLINGBUDSOFMAY (M van Rensburg), which was hanging inwards from the 400m, came together and brushed at approximately the 350m. e) CALL ME CLARION (*J Botes) was hanging inwards from the 400m and was straightened at the 200m. f) WISHES AND DREAMS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
