THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	ACTION AMERICA (C Little) was unruly behind the stalls.
b)	ROCK OF FUTURA (C Habib) was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls.
c) 	OUTBACK EXPRESS (J Gates) and AETHELWULF (S Naidoo) jumped outwards.
d)	MR BRIGHT SPARK (M Yeni) was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. 
e)	HALF MOON ISLAND (M van Rensburg) was slow into stride. 

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race and finding a replacement Rider for Jockey C Zackey, who was stood down by the course Medical Officer. 
b)	HALF MOON ISLAND recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Assistant Trainer NJ Paddock was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level.
c)	WILD FIG recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer AC Greeff was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level.
d)	ROCK OF FUTURA (C Habib) over raced in the early and middle stages.
e) 	WILD FIG (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 400m.
f)	AMIOK (C Maujean) had to be switched out to obtain clear running at the 250m.
g)	SHOCKMAN (Y Ramzan) had to steady momentarily off the heels of AMIOK (C Maujean) when carried inwards by MATT'S WARRIOR (S Khathi), which shifted inwards slightly at the 200m.
h)	ROCK OF FUTURA (C Habib) shifted both ways away from the crop and was corrected shortly before the finish line.
i)	In view of the performance of MR BRIGHT SPARK (M Yeni), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
j)	ROCK OF FUTURA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised. (LM)
