Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAVANA GREY (X Ndlovu) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. b) PROJECT RUNWAY (Y Ramzan) and MS PATTY (C Maujean) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, MS PATTY (C Maujean) was buffeted between HAVANA GREY (X Ndlovu) and PRISCILLA MAISEY (C Little), which jumped inwards. b) ARTICUNO (R Fourie) had to check and lost position when awkwardly placed on the inside of ENCHANTING LADY (M van Rensburg), which was carried inwards by BOMBER GIRL (*J Botes), which shifted inwards without correction at approximately the 300m. As a consequence, MS PATTY (C Maujean) was directed outwards to obtain clear running. Apprentice J Botes was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of BOMBER GIRL, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to ENCHANTING LADY and ARTICUNO at the 300m. Apprentice J Botes signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates to be advised) c) Jockey M van Rensburg reported that ENCHANTING LADY took a number of awkward strides in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) PRISCILLA MAISEY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised.
