Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QUINN'S TIME (C F Dicken) became restless in the stalls shortly before the start was effected. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly before the start was effected QUINN'S TIME (C F Dicken) became restless. This resulted in the handler that was allocated to QUINN'S TIME (C F Dicken) being marginally slow in releasing this colt and the subsequent loss of 2 lengths. The Board deemed this incident to be of the horse's fractious behaviour and therefore took no further action. b) Shortly after the start RED MOUNTAIN (T Godden) was bumped by PAPA C (K Matsunyane) which jumped inwards leaving the starting stalls. As a result PAPA C (K Matsunyane) was unbalanced and had its hindquarters turned outwards. As a result of this incident DUKE OF AFRICA (C Habib) was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed on the outside of SYX HOTFIX (*B Marx-Jacobson) and LEXICAN POINT (S Moodley) which was carried in by RED MOUNTAIN (T Godden). c) LEXICAN POINT (S Moodley) over-raced in the early stages. d) In view of the performance of DUKE OF AFRICA (10.95 lengths, 16/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) EVENTIDOR (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S S Ngcobo was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) RED MOUNTAIN raced without blinkers and without a tongue tie (advised 15.07.2025/09h18). b) Jockey C Habib was the rider of DUKE OF AFRICA (advised 16.07.2025/07h29). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) DUKE OF AFRICA : Not striding out right front and coughing.
