THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAFE TRAVEL (G Lerena) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) LORD KELVIN (K A Brewer), LUWAK (P Mxoli) and ZYPHER KING (*K J Lihaba) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, Jockey M Yeni's (OLYMPIAN GOLD) shoulder made contact with the right-side front gate. b) SAFE TRAVEL (G Lerena) shifted out marginally away from the crop in the concluding stages. c) Jockey J Gates reported that RED SEA HILLS made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) SAFE TRAVEL (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Azzie advised (MduP).
