THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LILAC SNOW (P Strydom) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, WINDS OF GRACE (R Danielson) jumped awkwardly inwards, making contact with the right-side front gate. As a consequence, Jockey R Danielson briefly lost the footing to his right-side stirrup iron. b) Shortly after the start, LILAC SNOW (P Strydom) and WISE COUNSEL (G Lerena) came together and brushed. c) LILAC SNOW (P Strydom) over-raced in the early stages. d) Jockey J R Syster, the rider of RHUM DE VIE, accidentally dropped his crop at the 200m. e) HARPER'S WAY (J Gates) shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. f) WISE COUNSEL (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
