THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IMPACT INVESTOR (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) UNSOLVED RIDDLE (P Strydom) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) FUSHIMI INARI (P Mxoli) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls, losing two lengths. d) ROSY LEMON (S Moodley) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, LAVA COUNTY (G Lerena) and ROSY LEMON (S Moodley) were awkwardly placed between UNSOLVED RIDDLE (P Strydom), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, and IMPACT INVESTOR (K Matsunyane), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) LAVA COUNTY (G Lerena) over-raced in the early stages. c) At approximately the 500m, LAVA COUNTY (G Lerena), which hung in, and SAIL THE SKY (C Murray), which rolled out, came together and brushed. Thereafter, LAVA COUNTY (G Lerena) continued to hang in. d) FUSHIMI INARI (P Mxoli) shifted out away from the crop from the 200m. e) In view of the performance of FUSHIMI INARI (P Mxoli), (distance 14,10 lengths, betting 25/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) In view of the performance of LAPIS LAZULI (*K J Lihaba), (distance 14,60 lengths, betting 25/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. g) UNSOLVED RIDDLE (P Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
