Stipes Report
PINKERTON'S SON (D Daniels) had to be resaddled at the start. This caused a delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TASTE THE RAINBOW (K Matsunyane) jumped awkwardly and lost 2 lengths. b) GREEN GATEWAY (G Lerena) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start TARGARYEN KNIGHT (C F Dicken) was brushed in by PINKERTON'S SON (D Daniels) which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) CAPTAIN LIGHTNING (T Godden) which raced green on debut, commenced to give ground to the field from the 300m. c) At the 250m BOURBON'S BEAST (C Habib) was switched to the outside of GREEN GATEWAY (G Lerena), which raced green, hung in, and shifted in from the 300m, to continue its run. d) Shortly before the finish Jockey C Murray's (MOHAVE PRINCE) crop was accidentally struck from his grasp by Jockey G Lerena (GREEN GATEWAY). e) WILLIAM OF ORANGE (S Hlengwa) raced green. f) GREEN GATEWAY (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Kannemeyer was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) None.
