THE STARTER REPORTED: a) UNDERCOVER LOVER (*V Jodhee) and DANCING WARRIOR (O Noach) jumped slow, losing one length. b) GOLD GIBOSKI (G Lerena) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being slow to begin, DANCING WARRIOR (O Noach) took an awkward stride shortly after the start. b) GOLD GIBOSKI (G Lerena) raced awkwardly on the latter part of the turn. c) SUPERHERO (C Orffer) was hanging out in the straight. d) Jockey G Lerena reported that GOLD GIBOSKI made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. e) In view of the performance of ROYAL DAWN (*B Plaatjies), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) Apprentice V Jodhee appeared before the Board, accompanied by his Riding Master, and was advised that his riding of UNDERCOVER LOVER in the home straight had come under the notice of the Stewards. He was advised to ensure that he rides his mounts with sufficient vigour and determination in future engagements so that he does not come under notice of the Stewards. He was further advised that as his riding in the home straight fell short of the required vigour and purpose, this ride would not be counted as a qualifying ride. g) THE NIGHT FERRY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
