THE STARTER REPORTED: a) COUNT YOUR CHANCES (*M Mbuto) jumped awkwardly outwards, making contact with the left-side front gate, which resulted in this mare losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) PERINI PALACE (*B Plaatjies) over-raced in the early and middle stages, proving difficult to assist. b) In view of the performance of GHOSTBUSTER (R Danielson), (distance 13,25 lengths, betting 40/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) Apprentice K J Lihaba reported that he felt something amiss with LIKE A PRAYER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Trainer J A Visser was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate COUNT YOUR CHANCES against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer J A Visser signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. e) NORTHERN KITTEN (J Gates), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis Trainer F P Habib advised (SM). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) COUNT YOUR CHANCES raced without blinkers (declared 21 July 2025 at 12H24). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) GHOSTBUSTER examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) LIKE A PRAYER blowing post race; fatigued. c) GOLDEN ASPEN coughing post race.
