Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GLOBAL SPEAK (C Maujean) was nervous in the stalls and jumped awkwardly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TOP DOLLAR shifted inwards shortly after the start and was restrained by Jockey K Minnie. b) CANFORD'S BEAUTY (Y Ramzan) over raced in the early and middles stages and tired quickly in the straight. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) TOP DOLLAR (K Minnie) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the inside of COSMIC CLIFFS (*B Plaatjies), which shifted inwards leaving the 500m. Apprentice B Plaatjies was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider COSMIC CLIFFS, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to TOP DOLLAR leaving the 500m. Apprentice B Plaatjies signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning. In determining a suitable penalty, the Board considered the severity of the interference, the extent of COSMIC CLIFFS (*B Plaatjies) lateral movement and the interference suffered. d) GLOBAL SCENE (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 350m. e) GARDEN SUN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised.
