Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MIGHTY MAC (*B Plaatjies) jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) SWEET AND TRUE (L Mxothwa) and CAPTAIN TIK TOK (Y Ramzan) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) VEGAS HI RISE (J Gates) refused to parade and canter past to the start. Trainer DA McKenzie was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, it may be suspended. b) MIGHTY MAC (*B Plaatjies), which jumped slow, failed to muster speed, raced detached from the field and raced wide around the bend and into the straight. c) BEECHAMWOOD BOY (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 300m and proved difficult to assist. d) ROUGAROUIN (*N Nastili) was hanging in from the 250m. Apprentice N Nastili appeared before the Board and was advised to change his crop hand and not use his crop on the left-hand side when his mount is hanging inwards. e) Jockey S Naidoo reported that WINTER WARFARE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer K Mitchley was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. f) IMAGINABLE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised.
