THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SHE'S MY WORLD (R Fourie) reacted when MARITZBURG MEMORY (*B Plaatjies) became restless in the stalls. MARITZBURG MEMORY (*B Plaatjies) was taken out, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded. SHE'S MY WORLD (R Fourie) was taken out as a precaution and reloaded. This caused a delay. Thereafter, MARITZBURG MEMORY (*B Plaatjies) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. b) BETWEEN THE LINES (*S Bungane) and CAPTAIN'S DESTINY (O Noach) made contact leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SHE'S MY CAPTAIN (K Steyn) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be assisted by a Handler. Stable Employee R Fredericks was advised that should this mare behave in a similar manner in future engagements, she may be suspended. b) CAPTAIN'S DESTINY (O Noach) was briefly held up for a clear run at the 250m. c) The delay in the release of the official all-clear will be investigated. d) WILD APPLAUSE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
