THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLAZE A WAY (J Mariba) stood, losing many lengths. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer F P Habib was advised (GT). b) SHINTO SHRINE (*K J Lihaba) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1300m, COMING IN HOT (J R Syster) was bumped out by HAT TRICK OR TREAT (*M Mbuto), which switched out to avoid running onto the heels of OPEN HIGHWAY (G Lerena). As a consequence of this, COMING IN HOT (J R Syster) was steadied when awkwardly placed on the outside of HAT TRICK OR TREAT (*M Mbuto). b) HAT TRICK OR TREAT (*M Mbuto) raced wide around the turn, without cover, and into the straight. c) PRESSONREGARDLESS (C Habib) hung in from the 400m. d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to BLAZE A WAY, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 27 July 2025 to 2 August 2025. BLAZE A WAY may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer F P Habib was advised. e) OPEN HIGHWAY (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (MS).
