THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TITAN OF THE TURF (C Murray) and SHADOWFAX (R Fourie) lost 1 length. b) GEORGE'S MAGIC (S Moodley) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) DANTE'S BOND (P Mxoli) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. Thereafter this gelding commenced to hang in. b) TITAN OF THE TURF (C Murray) hung in from the 350m. c) At the 150m RACHEL WALL (G Lerena) was carried in by MIGHTY ZAMBEZI (C Habib) which had come to the end of its run and rolled in. d) Jockey S Moodley reported that GEORGE'S MAGIC did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) The Stewards will review Jockey C Murray's (TITAN OF THE TURF) crop use in the closing stages. f) An investigation will be opened into the circumstances which led to the late arrival into the parade ring of Jockeys G Lerena (RACHEL WALL), K de Melo (ZALATORIS), C Zackey (ARISTOCRATIC), S Khumalo (CITY OF LOVE), R Fourie (SHADOWFAX), K Matsunyane (VANAKKAM), S Moodley (GEORGE'S MAGIC) and P Mxoli (DANTE'S BOND). g) ZALATORIS (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P F Matchett was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) VANAKKAM raced without ear muffs (advised 18.05.2025/10h40). b) Jockey K Matsunyane was the rider of VANAKKAM (advised 27.07.2025/09h15).
