THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SPRING TRADITION (R Venniker) lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) PALERMO (N Patel) reared in the starting stalls. This gelding was removed, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. b) MVELELO (S Veale) and DAPPER (K Matsunyane) hung in from the 350m. c) Leaving the 300m, DANUBE (C Murray) was carried in by SPRING TRADITION (R Venniker) which rolled in away from CHELSEA FLOWER (S Hlengwa) which hung in from the 350m. d) Jockey K Matsunyane (DAPPER) accidentally dropped his crop at the 50m. e) In view of the performance of WINTER WAVES (A Mgudlwa) (7.40 lengths, 16/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) SPRING TRADITION (R Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
