THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	GORGEOUS DUDE (A Mgudlwa) lost one length. 
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	Shortly after the start, DOUBLE OLYMPIC (N Patel) was bumped on two occasions by BANK STREET (S Moodley) which was bumped in by L'ULTIMO (R Venniker) which jumped in leaving the starting stalls. 
b)	Approaching the 800m, GORGEOUS DUDE (A Mgudlwa) was tightened for galloping room when awkwardly placed on the inside of TEEREX (C Habib) and the inside running rail. 
c)	Jockey N Patel was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that he as the rider of DOUBLE OLYMPIC misused his crop by striking this gelding more than twelve times (14) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey N Patel signed an admission of guilt and was fined R4 000.
d)	BANK STREET (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S H Ferrie  was advised (DZ).
