THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAPPHIRE SUN (K A Brewer) was stubborn loading. b) KENSAL GREEN (P Mxoli) was restless and thereafter jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TAKING A RISK (*K J Lihaba) raced wide, without cover, around the turn and into the straight, b) Apprentice G Dookhit (THE BONNY) did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Apprentice G Dookhit reported that this filly did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Apprentice K J Lihaba, the rider of TAKING A RISK, accidentally dropped his crop at the 50m. d) HEAVENLY GOOD (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
