THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SOUND OF HOUNDS (A Domeyer) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) OUTOFTHEDARKNESS (G Lerena) and ABOUT TO STORM (W Kennedy) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In the concluding stages, WHAFEEF (R Danielson) was carried out marginally by ABOUT TO STORM (W Kennedy), which shifted out away from the crop and was straightened. b) Jockey D De Gouveia reported that he felt something amiss with HUMBLE TUNE in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Stable Employee M Ncube, acting on behalf of Trainer C Dawson, was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of HUMBLE TUNE on return to stables c) OUTOFTHEDARKNESS (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) ABOUT TO STORM was ridden by Jockey W Kennedy (declared 9 April 2022 at 08H42).
