Stipes Report
The start of this race was delayed due to ROY TAKING OFF (S Veale), ANGEL OF MY HEART (C Zackey), PINK DIAMOND (J Gates) and SKY VELOCITY (M Yeni) being re-saddled at the start. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THE QUEEN BEE (C F Dicken) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1100m THE QUEEN BEE (C F Dicken) which over-raced in the early and middle stages, was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of ROY TAKING OFF (S Veale). b) FLYING REIGN STORM (D Daniels) hung out from the 350m. c) At the 150m THE QUEEN BEE (C F Dicken) was steadied when awkwardly placed between the heels of ROY TAKING OFF (S Veale) and the heels of CASSANDRA (C Little) which hung in from the 350m and rolled in. d) COPACABANA (S Moodley) hung in and shifted in from the 200m. e) In view of the performance of SKY VELOCITY (M Yeni) (17.50 lengths, 33/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Jockey C Little was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2., Appendix E, (Guideline 3) in that he mis-used his crop by striking CASSANDRA forward of the saddle in the latter stages. Jockey C Little signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000. g) COPACABANA (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D S Bosch was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) CASSANDRA raced equipped with blinkers (advised 31.07.2025/07h52). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) CASSANDRA : Not striding out right hind. b) SKY VELOCITY : Brush wound right hind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS : DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
