THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) En route to the start, IRFAANS BOY (A Domeyer) pulled its left front shoe which was attended to by the Course Farrier at the start. b) DROGHIERE (G Lerena) hung out around the turn. c) ICE EATER (R Danielson) failed to muster speed and remained one-paced throughout. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer C I Jonker was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of ICE EATER on return to stables d) DROGHIERE (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) INSATIABLE was ridden by Jockey W Kennedy (declared 9 April 2022 at 08H42). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) GIN AND TONIC raced with a compression mask (declared 5 April 2022 at 12H29). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) ICE EATER examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) DROGHIERE overreach left fore.
