THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SMART STAR (*S Valjalo) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) JET QUERARI (C Habib) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, INSPECTOR JAMES (M Yeni), CYBER SPIRIT (*M Mbuto) and CHILLI MARMALADE (*G Samo-Burthia) were bumped out by JET QUERARI (C Habib), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) In the concluding stages, SMART STAR (*S Valjalo) was carried out marginally by RINGHO (P Mxoli), which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. c) Apprentice G Samo-Burthia reported that CHILLI MARMALADE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) TIME WILL TELL (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) CHILLI MARMALADE was ridden by Apprentice G Samo-Burthia, who weighed out at 49,4kg, claiming 3kg of his 4kg apprentice allowance as declared (declared 5 August 2025 at 10H43). b) SMART STAR: Apprentice S Valjalo weighed out at 50kg, only claiming 2kg of her 4kg apprentice allowance as declared.
