Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAVANA GREY (X Ndlovu) was nervous in the stalls. b) ARTICUNO (S Khumalo) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls. c) BASINGSTOKE (M van Rensburg) jumped slow, losing one length. d) WHERE'S THE PARTY (C Maujean) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h28) b) BASINGSTOKE (M van Rensburg) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. c) BONJOUR LA VILLE (M Yeni) was hanging out from the 300m and proved difficult to assist. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) PROJECT RUNWAY (C Habib) was hanging in from the 300m and was corrected at the 100m. Thereafter LE PREMIERE (J Gates), which was hanging out from the 200m, made contact with PROJECT RUNWAY (C Habib), which was hanging in and shifted in shortly before the finish line. e) Jockey S Khumalo reported that ARTICUNO made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. f) LE PREMIERE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised. (LM) g) WHERE'S THE PARTY, the fourth-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
