THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	TIKI TAKA (J P van der Merwe) was slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	Apprentice J Solomons appeared before the Board, in the presence of National Riding Master, Mr R Moore, and was questioned with regards to his ride on DOUBLE MARTINI. He explained to the Board that his instructions were to drop this gelding out from a wide draw and to sit as long as possible in the straight. However, in the straight, when attempting to make his run on the outside of TWOSIDESTOASTORY (*K A Brewer), DOUBLE MARTINI commenced to hang in. Apprentice J Solomons then attempted to straighten this gelding to secure his run on the outside, before electing to switch in at the 200m. Thereafter, DOUBLE MARTINI finished his race off strongly.
b)	In view of the performance of SPIRITOFTHEGROOVE (C Habib), (distance 5,75 lengths, betting 6/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. 	 
c)	Jockey Wes Marwing reported that BRIDGE OF SPIES made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
d)	GLOBAL RANSOM (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
