The start of this race was delayed due to the 30-minute interval between Races 1 and 2. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JET SPEED (R A Venniker) was stubborn to load. b) BOARDWALK BREEZE (M Yeni) was restless in the stalls. c) SUSURRANDO (C Zackey) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) SUSURRANDO (C Zackey) raced green. b) At the 100m ROYAL SWORD (S Moodley) which hung in from the 600m, was momentarily inconvenienced on the outside of BOARDWALK BREEZE (M Yeni). c) Jockey R A Venniker reported that JET SPEED did not stride out freely in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) BOARDWALK BREEZE (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P V Lafferty was advised (DZ).
