THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AYUWI YUWI (S Veale) lost 1 length and thereafter was slow into stride. b) MIST IN IRELAND (J Gates) jumped with its head up and lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) As the start was effected AYUWI YUWI (S Veale) jumped awkwardly with its head turned sideways. As a result this filly's muzzle made contact with the left front gate. In view of this, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) In view of the performance of MIST IN IRELAND (J Gates) (17.45 lengths, 100/1 in the betting), which raced detached throughout, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) was charged with a contravention of Rule 38.3., in that he failed to ensure that the passport for ICY LANCASTER was made available for inspection 60 minutes prior to this race. Trainer van Zyl (Jnr) signed an admission of guilt and was fined R500. d) DARK MATTER (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R A Hill was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) ICY LANCASTER raced equipped with ear muffs (advised 09.08.2025/08h46). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) MIST IN IRELAND : Lame right hind. A Veterinary Certificate is required prior to this this filly's next engagement. b) AYUWI YUWI : Mouth injury and coughing.
