Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) The tongue tie on STRATA (S Khumalo) was re-fitted at the start, causing a slight delay. b) FIRE ALARM (K Minnie), FIERY COUNTESS (C Habib) and CANFORD QUEEN (*N Nastili) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h53) b) FIERY COUNTESS (C Habib) jumped inwards and made slight contact with SHAMPIMPI (C Little) shortly after the start. c) STRATA (S Khumalo) was hanging in from the 400m and was corrected at the 150m. d) THREAD OF LIFE (MK Katjedi) was hanging in from the 300m and was corrected shortly before the finish line. e) Jockey S Naidoo reported that VALERIA'S DREAM did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. f) FIERY COUNTESS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised. (LM) g) STRANGE MAGIC, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised.
