Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ONE SCOTCH (L Mxothwa), HOLOCENE (X Ndlovu), CHARLIE MALONE (Y Ramzan) and DAS GUTE (W Agrella) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SILVER TYCOON recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer WGC Miller was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. (15h27) This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. b) DAS GUTE (W Agrella) refused to take the bend and raced wide around the bend and into the straight. c) FINAL TRY (S Khumalo) was hanging in in the straight and proved difficult to assist. d) Apprentice N Nastili reported that BASINGSTOKE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. e) TINTAMARRE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised.
