THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	SUNSHINE SUPERMAN (JP van der Merwe) and RUBY'S FORTRESS (*B Plaatjies) jumped slow, losing two lengths and thereafter were slow into stride.
b)	SPANISH VERSE (G Wright) and FAST AND FREE (C Little) made contact leaving the stalls.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	In view of the performance of RUBY'S FORTRESS (*B Plaatjies), which after being slow away, raced detached from the field throughout. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
b)	FAST AND FREE (C Little) and WARRIOR'S SWORD (*S Bungane) raced green.
c) 	Jockey C Murray reported that PRINCE OF EGYPT took an awkward stride shortly before the finish and thereafter did not stride out freely. As a consequence, he did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
d)	Jockey M Yeni reported that SENDAI was blowing post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	Jockey O Noach reported that BLUE STEEL was blowing post-race.  The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f)	Trainer SJ Snaith was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate SENDAI against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer SJ Snaith signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.00.
g)	BLACK EAGLE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised. (KG)
