THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	GIMMELIGHTNING (G Wright) and WINTER RAINFALL (S Veale) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a) 	Jockey G Wright reported that GIMMELIGHTNING did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
b)	Jockey C Murray reported that FESTIVAL CHIC took no interest in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 250m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
	When interviewed, Jockey C Murray told the Stewards that FESTIVAL CHIC had not responded to his urgings from the 400m, like it had in its previous race, and that in his opinion this filly was blowing post-race more than he would have expected.
The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this filly is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement. Trainer J Crawford was advised. 	
c)	ELUSIVE WINTER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Rix was advised. (KG)
