Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WINDS OF GRACE (S Khumalo) was restless in the stalls. b) EMBER KING (K A Brewer) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After racing prominently throughout, SASSY LASSIE (J Penny) tired badly from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey J Penny reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Leaving the 200m, BELLA BOOP BOOP (C Maujean) was brushed out by EMERALD CITY (*K J Lihaba), which was carried out marginally by SEVENTH FLEET (M Yeni), which rolled out. c) Jockey S Moodley reported that DONDOYAKI changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Apprentice K J Lihaba was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride EMERALD CITY out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Apprentice K J Lihaba signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R1000 was imposed. When assessing the penalty, the Board was satisfied that Apprentice K J Lihaba had not prejudiced his chance of obtaining third (3rd) position e) GREENLIGHT RACER (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J A Soma advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) EMBER KING: Jockey K A Brewer weighed out at 52,9kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. b) EMERALD CITY: Apprentice K J Lihaba weighed out at 52,7kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) SASSY LASSIE raced equipped with a compression mask and without blinkers (declared 13 August 2025 at 08H05). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SASSY LASSIE fatigued. b) DONDOYAKI not striding out right hind. c) EMBER KING blowing post race. d) KING BLUETOOTH blowing post race. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
