THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OBSIDIAN (S Khumalo) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) MASTER CHRISTMAS (C Little) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey C Zackey reported that IKIGAI made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Jockey S Moodley reported that JURY'S OUT took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) OBSIDIAN (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) STREWN SKY: Apprentice G Samo-Burthia weighed out at 49,4kg, only claiming 3kg of his 4kg apprentice allowance as declared. b) MASTER CHRISTMAS: Jockey C Little weighed out at 58,4kg, 1kg over the carded weight.
