THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	GOT THE FEVER (L Mxothwa) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls.
b)	GRAND ALLEGRO (M Yeni), WINTER EMERALDS (R Fourie) and ANCHOR MAN (G Wright) were slow into stride. 		

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	WINTER EMERALDS recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer AC Greeff was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. (13h39) This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level.
b)	ANCHOR MAN (G Wright) jumped outwards and made contact with KING'S SAILOR (C Little) shortly after the start. Thereafter, ANCHOR MAN (G Wright) was buffeted between NEW MEXICO (C Maujean) and KING'S SAILOR (C Little) and was unbalanced for a number of strides.
c)	GOT THE FEVER (L Mxothwa) and WINTER EMERALDS (R Fourie) over raced in the early and middle stages. 
d) 	NEW MEXICO (C Maujean) shifted out away from the crop from the 200m.
e)	FLASH LIGHTNING (*N Nastili) shied away from GOT THE FEVER (L Mxothwa), shifted inwards at approximately the 400m and thereafter was directed inwards to obtain clear running at the 350m.
f)	NEW MEXICO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was advised. (LM)
g)	GOT THE FEVER, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised. (LM)
