Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	The tongue-tie on DUCHESSOF SEVILLE (M Yeni) was replaced at the start.
b)	QUICK CROWN (*N Nastili) was nervous in the stalls.
c)	BANDMASTER (C Habib) was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride.
d)	PILGRIM (X Ndlovu) jumped slow, losing one length.
e)	MONOCLE (C Maujean) was slow into stride.	 

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 testing were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h22)
b)	STAND UP (MK Katjedi) shifted in sharply shortly after the start.
c)	BANDMASTER (C Habib), which was hanging inwards from the 300m, was directed inwards at the 100m to continue its run on the inside of PIBE DE ORO (L Mxothwa). Thereafter, BANDMASTER (C Habib) had to be steadied at the 100m in anticipation when close to the heels of PIBE DE ORO (L Mxothwa), which commenced to hang inwards. Trainer E Kaknis lodged an objection on behalf of the 4th placed horse BANDMASTER (C Habib) against the second placed horse PIBE DE ORO (L Mxothwa) on the grounds of interference in the latter stages.  The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence, reviewing the patrol film and giving consideration to the margin of 2,00 lengths between the two horses concerned, was satisfied that BANDMASTER (C Habib) would not have finished ahead of PIBE DE ORO (L Mxothwa) had this incident not occurred and therefore overruled the Objection.  The Objection Board considered this objection to be unwarranted and declared the Objection fee forfeit in terms of Rule 67.7.3.
d)	QUICK CROWN (*N Nastili) was hanging in from the 400m.
e) 	Jockey MK Katjedi was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of STAND UP he misused his crop by striking STAND UP more than 12 times (13) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey MK Katjedi signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2000,00. 
f)	Jockey X Ndlovu was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline B) in that he mis-used his crop by striking PILGRIM with his crop arm above shoulder height. Jockey X Ndlovu signed an admission of guilt and was fined R500.00.	 
g)	DUCHESS OF SEVILLE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee GW Paddock, acting on behalf of Trainer K Mitchley, was advised. (LM)
