THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JET LAVISH (*B Plaatjies) kicked in the starting stalls. b) CAPTAINS ALLIANCE (C Zackey) jumped outwards and made contact with KATSU (R Fourie). c) IT IS MY TIME (M Winnaar) jumped inwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start BLIND DATE (S Khumalo) shifted inwards away from IT IS MY TIME (M Winnaar) and made contact with KATSU (R Fourie), which in turn bumped CAPTAINS ALLIANCE (C Zackey). b) JET LAVISH (*B Plaatjies) raced awkwardly with its head up in the early stages. c) DEVIL A SAINT (G van Niekerk) over raced in the early and middle stages. d) WHAT A FORTUNE (A Domeyer) raced without cover on the turn and, as a consequence, proved difficult to settle. e) Jockey S Veale reported that SHOW OFF took no interest in running and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) IT IS MY TIME, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D McLachlan was advised.
