THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	HAMPSTEAD HEATH (C Zackey) and STREET TALK (C Bantam) were slow into stride.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	WEHAVEASITUATION (JP van der Merwe) proved difficult to settle in the early stages and raced wide on the turn and into the straight.
b) 	APPROACING the 150m LADY SPRINGFIELD (S Khumalo) was steadied when awkwardly placed on the outside of HAMPSTEAD HEATH (C Zackey). Thereafter, Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with LADY SPRINGFIELD and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. 
After interviewing Jockey S Khumalo, the Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and LADY SPRINGFIELD is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. 
c)	Jockey A Domeyer was charged with a contravention of Rule 61.3.4 in that he failed to canter TAP SHOES in front of the stand before going to the start. Jockey A Domeyer signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning.
d)	Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 61.3.4 in that he failed to canter LADY SPRINGFIELD in front of the stand before going to the start. Jockey S Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning.
e)	Jockey JP van der Merwe was charged with a contravention of Rule 61.3.4 in that he failed to canter WEHAVEASITUATION in front of the stand before going to the start. Jockey JP van der Merwe signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning.
f)	TAP SHOES, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (ZM)
