THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 1000m LET IT BE SAID (S Khumalo) commenced to over race, took charge of the Rider, raced round the field and into a leading position. Thereafter LET IT BE SAID (S Khumalo) tired quickly in the straight. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Between the 450m and the 300m KINDA WONDERFUL (C Orffer) was held up for a clear run and had to be directed outwards. c) At the 200m SOHOT SOWHAT (K Steyn) rolled out and brushed THE WINTER LAKE (JP van der Merwe). Thereafter, at the 150m, SOHOT SOWHAT (K Steyn) was momentarily inconvenienced when racing on the outside of HANDSOME PRINCE (*B Plaatjies), which was hanging out, shifted out and proved difficult to straighten. d) LEGAL COUNSEL (A Fortune) was hanging out in the latter stages. e) DUMBLEDORE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised.
