THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THE SHEPHERD (S Moodley) was stubborn to load. Lost 1 length. b) PROUD MASTER (T Godden) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Approaching the 1200m AFRICAN SKYLINE (*D Pillay) was tightened and steadied between IMILENZEYOKUDUDUMA (S Veale) and MEXICAN PETE (*D D Louw) which commenced to over-race in the early and middle stages and was eased momentarily when close to the heels of THE SHEPHERD (S Moodley) which rolled in. b) Jockey S Khumalo reported that DIANI did not stride out freely in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) FUTURE VARIETY (A Fortune), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
