THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MIGHTY EAGLE (*K J Lihaba) was slow losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After racing prominently throughout, NAZARE (S Moodley) tired badly from the 400m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) DECEPTION PASS (*T Mayhew) raced wide around the turn and into the straight, and tired badly in the concluding stages. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) In view of the performance of CLEVER TREVOR (C Murray), (distance 7,75 lengths, betting 33/10), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of SAIL THE SKY (M van Rensburg), (distance 11,50 lengths, betting 25/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) CHIEFTAIN'S SHIELD (P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
