THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TRUE HORIZON (JP van der Merwe) and SEE THE SIGN (J Solomons) were slow into stride. b) LOWVELD LILY (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being slow to begin SEE THE SIGN (J Solomons) was directed inwards and had to be steadied when close to the heels of TRES CHIC (*S Bungane). b) Jockey C Zackey reported that IM THE BUZZ, which raced wide on the turn and into the straight, did not stride out freely in the latter stages and he did not persevere with his riding from the 150m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. After interviewing Jockey C Zackey, the Stewards exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7 and this mare is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement. Trainer PD Reeves was advised. c) Jockey G van Niekerk reported that VIVO PER LEI tired quickly in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) LOWVELD LILY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
