Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	SHORI KAI (C Little) was stubborn loading, jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with DIVO MONDO (MK Katjedi), which fly-jumped leaving the stalls. 
b)	BRIGHT ERUPTION (S Naidoo) jumped inwards.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	DIVO MONDO (MK Katjedi) proved difficult proceeding to the start and was led, riderless, by a Handler from the 1200m. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, he may be suspended.
b)	BRIGHT ERUPTION (S Naidoo), which jumped inwards, made contact with the right-side front gate of the starting stalls. As a consequence, Jockey S Naidoo briefly lost his right-side stirrup iron and became unbalanced for a number of strides. Thereafter, BRIGHT ERUPTION (S Naidoo) was buffeted between GREY WARRIOR (R Fourie) and LACRYMA CHRISTI (M Yeni).  
c)	GREY WARRIOR (R Fourie) and SHORI KAI (C Little) over raced in the early and middle stages. 
d)	GREY WARRIOR (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 350m
e)	PICK A POMODORO (L Mxothwa) was hanging out in the latter stages. 
f) 	SHORI KAI (C Little) raced green.	
g)	Jockey C Maujean reported that RED ORCHID RISING made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. 
	Trainer TJ Laing was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this colt on his return to the stables.
h)	Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with LACRYMA CHRISTI.  The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. 
	Trainer K Mitchley was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables.
i)	Trainer K Mitchley was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that she failed to vaccinate LACRYMA CHRISTI against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer K Mitchley signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.00.
j)	SHORI KAI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Lotz was advised. (LM)
k)	PICK A POMODORO, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised. (LM)
