Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	GOODNESSGRACIOUSME (G Lerena) jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with MY ONLY WEAKNESS (C Zackey).
b)	KYALAMI GIRL (JP van der Merwe) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:

a)	Approaching the 400m WORLDCRAFT (C Little) was momentarily inconvenienced when KAMCHATKA (C Orffer) rolled in and was immediately straightened.
b)	Jockey C Little reported that WORLDRCRAFT (C Little) raced awkwardly on the turn and did not stride out freely in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
c)	When questioned regarding his riding of MY ONLY WEAKNESS, Jockey C Zackey told the Stewards that this filly has a short run in and that, in his opinion, having ridden this filly in her last two races, she resents the use of the crop. Having reviewed the patrol films and interviewing Trainer AN Marcus, the Stewards were satisfied with this explanation. However, both Trainer AN Marcus and Jockey C Zackey were told that they should advise the Stewards prior to a race of their intentions so that this can be disseminated to the racing public.
d)	SWIATEK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (SC)
e)	KAMCHATKA, the third-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Dixon, acting on behalf of Trainer WA Nel, was advised. (SC)
