Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WITHOUT REMORSE (M Yeni) was resaddled at the start, causing a delay. b) GOT THE LOOK (S Veale) was reluctant to load. c) AUTUMN RUSH (D Ashby) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 500m GOT THE LOOK (S Veale) rolled outwards away from the inside running rail and had to be corrected. b) Leaving the 300m VIXENS WAR (C Little) was steadied and directed outwards in anticipation of the available narrow run between the inside running rail and GOT THE LOOK (S Veale), which shifted in slightly, becoming unavailable. Jockey C Little (VIXENS WAR) called for a race review which was followed by an objection being lodged by Jockey C Little, the Rider of the 3rd placed VIXENS WAR against the 2nd placed GOT THE LOOK (S Veale) on the grounds of interference between the 300m and the 200m. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward, reviewing the patrol film and giving consideration to the margin of 0,75 of a length between the two horses concerned, was satisfied that VIXENS WAR (C Little) would not have finished ahead of GOT THE LOOK (S Veale) had this incident not occurred and therefore overruled the Objection. The Objection deposit fee was refunded. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that SOUTHAMPTON did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Trainer GW Ennion was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he presented GIN PALACE without hind shoes, which were declared, which resulted in this filly being withdrawn. Trainer GW Ennion signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R2500.00. e) REET PETITE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J Crawford was advised.
